Dynasty Value Methodology

Every player and rookie pick on Dynasty Trade Calculator carries a numeric value on a 0–10,000 scale. The scale is deliberately similar to the KeepTradeCut convention so managers can move between tools without translating grades. This page documents the exact inputs, weights, and refresh cadence behind those values.

Inputs

  • Recent NFL production — trailing 17 games of fantasy points per game, weighted for opportunity share (targets, carries, red-zone touches).
  • Age relative to positional curve — separate curves for QB, RB, WR, TE, and IDP subroles.
  • Draft capital — round and pick for rookies and second-year players.
  • Depth chart / role — snap share, route participation, and target/carry monopoly.
  • Team and offensive context — quarterback play, coaching stability, offensive scheme.
  • Contract status — years remaining, incoming free agency, franchise-tag risk.
  • Injury history — durability discount for players with two or more season-affecting injuries.

Format tuning

The same input model produces three value sets:

  • 1QB — standard single-QB starting lineup. WRs dominate the top tier.
  • Superflex — QBs receive a 40–70% premium. Even bridge QBs retain real trade value.
  • IDP — LBs, DL, and DBs use position-specific curves. Values are tuned for balanced IDP scoring.

Verdict thresholds

The trade analyzer compares the summed value of each side and returns:

  • Under 5% gap → Even
  • 5–15% → Slight edge
  • 15–30% → Clear winner
  • 30%+ → Lopsided

Refresh cadence

Values refresh weekly during the NFL season and after any of the following: a player trade, a season-ending injury, a benching, a contract extension, and after every NFL Draft, rookie mini-camp, and preseason. Rookie pick values re-tier after the Draft and again before the season opener.
