The 1QB dynasty market is a WR-first market

In standard 1QB dynasty leagues, wide receivers dominate the top of every value chart. They live longer, produce more consistently, and are less injury-fragile than running backs. If you have never played anything but 1QB, you may not realize how sharply this shifts trade math versus Superflex — a top-5 dynasty QB in 1QB grades near a WR15, not a WR3.

Building a 1QB dynasty core

The classic championship blueprint stacks three top-15 WRs, two workhorse RBs, and one top-6 TE, with QB filled cheaply through waivers or a late-round rookie. Investing early-round rookie capital in QBs is almost always a mistake in 1QB — the position is too replaceable.

RB decay is unforgiving

Because 1QB rosters weight RBs more heavily than Superflex rosters, the age tax on RBs feels bigger. A 27-year-old RB1 with a heavy workload is a sell candidate every offseason. Trade for youth aggressively — the 1QB calculator will show you a "slight loss" that is actually a huge long-term win.

1QB trade workflows to run first

  • Sell your QB2 — trade a QB2/QB3 for a young WR or a 2nd-round rookie pick.
  • Consolidate WR depth — turn WR4 + WR5 into a top-15 WR.
  • Buy a wounded RB — trade a mid-tier veteran WR for a hurt young RB with a bell-cow role.

How this calculator works

Every player and rookie pick is assigned a numeric trade value on a 0–10,000 scale. Add assets to each side of the trade and we sum the totals, then score the deal by percentage gap: under 5% is even, 5–15% is a slight edge, 15–30% is a clear winner, and over 30% is lopsided. Values are tuned for standard 1QB dynasty leagues.

What goes into a dynasty value

Dynasty values are not just last year's fantasy points. Each grade blends recent NFL production, age relative to positional aging curves, offensive role and target/carry share, quarterback and coaching context, contract status, and — for rookies — draft capital and college production profile. A 24-year-old wide receiver coming off a 1,200-yard season is priced differently than a 29-year-old with the same numbers, even though their past output is identical, because the younger player has three or four more prime seasons of expected production.

Format-specific tuning

In standard 1QB leagues only one quarterback starts each week, so elite QBs sit behind top RBs and WRs on the value chart. Wide receivers dominate the top tier because target share ages well and receiver production is more stable year over year than running back workload.

Using the calculator in a real trade

Start by adding the player(s) you would send, then the player(s) or picks you would receive. The verdict is a guide, not a verdict — a "slight edge" against you can still be the right move if you are contending and receiving the more immediate producer. Conversely, an "even" deal that ships all your youth for aging veterans can quietly hurt a rebuild.

Common workflows:

  • 2-for-1 upgrade — consolidate two mid-tier assets into one top-tier player; expect to give up 10–20% of raw value for the roster spot.
  • Contender pushing all-in — swap future picks for a proven producer; check that the incoming player's window aligns with your window.
  • Rebuild — trade older veterans for youth and rookie picks; a small "loss" on the calculator is fine when the age gap is 4+ years.

Frequently asked questions

What is a 1QB dynasty trade calculator?

A free tool that assigns trade values to NFL players and rookie picks based on standard single-quarterback dynasty scoring, so you can compare both sides of a deal instantly.

Are 1QB values different from Superflex?

Yes. In 1QB leagues only one QB starts each week, so quarterbacks are valued lower than in Superflex/2QB formats where QB scarcity boosts their price.

Is this 1QB trade calculator free?

Yes — every calculator, ranking and the trade analyzer on Dynasty Trade Calculator are 100% free with no signup required.

How much are top QBs worth in 1QB?

Even elite QBs in 1QB grade below top-10 WRs and top-8 RBs. The scarcity premium simply is not there when only one starts per week.

Should I ever pay a first-round pick for a 1QB QB?

Only for a top-6 dynasty QB in his mid-20s. Otherwise pay 2nd-round pick prices at most.
